In Dec. 1919, Shiro Suzuki started out his first business at Tokyo’s Hirakawacho Kojimachi, producing and wholesaling syrup and cold beverages. Being consulted by Dr. Ryotaro Yoshida of Tokyo Imperial University (then), he also set up a trading business, importing various essences and flavorings from the companies, John Elmer of England and Bayern of Germany. Twenty years later, with his knowledge and expertise of international trade, he formed a partnership, Suzuki and Company Limited, the true foundation of Suzusho Limited today.
As the last war, WWII, became intensified, the business had to be ceased.
It was June 1946, when Suzuki and Company Ltd restarted its business, having relocated the office in Hongo Bunkyoku Tokyo.
Shiro Suzuki became president and his eldest son, Koushi joined the company management as managing director.
In Feburary 1973, due to the passage of the founder Shiro Suzuki, Koushi succeeded the business and the presidency.
In August 1978, Suzuki and Company Ltd. acquired a warehousing company Kousei Warehouse Co., Ltd, expanding the distribution facility.
In March 1979, Koushi Suzuki received “ The Export Oscar Award ” from the Government of Denmark for his effort to boost the bilateral trade activities by importing Dannish meat and dairy products.
In December 1984, Koushi Suzuki received a honorable invitation from the Dutch Government as a guest of Prime Minister and visited Holland.
In December 1985, Suzuki and Company Ltd. fully merged with Kousei Warehouse and named the company, as a single entity, Suzusho Limited.
In October 1988, his eldest son, Issei Suzuki became managing director of Suzusho Limited. The new office building was inaugurated at the current address, 23 Arakicho Shinjukuku Tokyo.
In March 1992, Koushi Suzuki became chairman of Suzusho group, having two subsidiaries -Le 'Cruse and Yuco.
And Issei Suzuki was promoted to president of Suzusho Limited.
